A prized trophy

Commonly referred to as the Wapiti (a native American word), the elk is a prized trophy for hunters. They come to our reserve from every corner of the globe each year to harvest quality trophies that rank alongside the best taken in North America.

From the rockies

The South Pacific elk originates from the bloodlines of the mighty Rocky Mountain elk. In New Zealand the species is renowned as containing some of the largest elk found anywhere in the world.

The great orator

In 1909 elk were introduced to New Zealand courtesy of President Roosevelt. The loud ‘bugling’ vocalisation of the rutting bull rivals that of politics’ greatest orators
YOUR HUNTING EXPERIENCE

BREAKFAST

6am – 7am

Start the day with a hearty breakfast prepared by Venator’s own chefs, using fresh local produce and complemented by freshly squeezed juices, coffee and tea.

MORNING HUNT

7am – 11am/12pm

We will head out to our hunting preserve, where our team will help guide you to your target with the spot and stalk style of hunting. Set in undulating backcountry  and covered in native vegetation, there is excellent cover and plenty of draws and gullies.

LUNCH

12pm – 1.30pm

Recharge for the afternoon with an exquisite lunch prepared by our in-house chefs.

AFTERNOON HUNT

1.30pm – 5pm/6pm

Following lunch, we’ll head back out to continue the hunt, in an environment that delivers all the excitement of hunting in raw, untamed terrain. Our approach is to always strive to exceed expectations – from the start of each day, throughout the hunting experience.

DINNER

6pm – 7.30pm Canapés
7.30-9pm Dinner
